Since 2017

Creative reading cultural day (abbreviated as CRCD), initiated and supervised by Shunde Library and Publicity department of Shunde committee of the CPC respectively, is a project aimed to promote reading. This project is operated under the joint efforts of both the local district and town as well as four organisations,which focuses on promoting digital reading and features immersive, interactive activities. It integrates street culture with traditional culture, further carries forward the excellence of Lingnan culture, provides a platform for the exhibition and continuous formation of culture under the joint efforts of society as a whole, and builds up local reading spirit. In promoting the prosperity of Ten Towns cultural sector, Shunde is to be a place of great culture in the years to come.

CRCD has been held successfully for four years since 2017. It comprises five sections including performance, exhibition, digital reading, traditional reading and Desheng Art Fair, attracting over 20,000 people, 40,112 number of plays on live stream and 111,842 viewings with our traditional culture gala. The Creative reading cultural day has captured the attention of many mainstream social media, won the third prize held by the Library Society Guangdong in 2019 and more importantly, it shines light on a promising path of reading promotion that can be reproduced in other towns and cities.
